Through the medium of drawing, we delve into the essence of Grand Lake’s heritage, using historic objects as our inspiration. Guided by experienced instructor Holly Sumner (https://hollysumner.net), students explore basic drawing techniques and composition, gaining insights into the stories woven into our local artifacts. From antique treasures to cherished heirlooms, each object becomes a conduit for creative expression and a gateway to uncovering the rich tapestry of our mountain community’s history. Do you have a historic Grand Lake artifact with a great story behind it that you would love to try to sketch? We encourage you to bring it to the class. With drawing pads, pencils, erasers, and charcoal provided, all you need to bring is your passion for discovery.
