OVERVIEW

Date: Monday, October 7, 2024 (4pm-7pm) Cost: $35 Level/Age: All experience levels; 16+ Instructor: Edie Dafoe Location: RMFS Building – 315 Pitkin Ave, Grand Lake, CO Create your own masterpiece on an 11×14 canvas! Join us for a relaxing 3-hour Acrylic Painting class where you’ll learn to paint a stunning view of aspen trees from below, bursting with vibrant fall colors. We’ll start by creating a beautiful layered background of semi-blended autumn leaf tones. Once dry, you’ll carefully add in patches of sky that peek through the leaves. Next, we’ll sketch and paint the tree trunks from a unique upward perspective, followed by branches and trunk details to complete the scene. For an extra bit of magic, you can choose to add metallic highlights to your leaves, giving your painting a shimmering effect. All skill levels welcome! October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and Advocates for a Violence-Free Community (also known as the Grand County Advocates) is bringing multiple events throughout the month. We teamed up with Advocates for a Violence-Free Community to bring you this relaxing acrylic painting class. Advocates for a Violence-Free Community offer a range of essential services, including a 24-hour confidential crisis line, emergency and safe housing options, safety planning, court advocacy, relocation assistance, and more.
